What we do

The whole product, not just a piece of it.

A connected product is a circuit board, firmware, an app and a server that all have to agree. We build all four together, which is why they fit.

Hardware & electronics

Circuit boards designed around the job, prototyped on the bench and proven in the real world.

  • Custom boards around the ESP32 family, designed in Eagle through to fabrication files
  • Vehicle interfaces: OBD-II and CAN, with motion sensing from accelerometers, gyros and 6-axis IMUs
  • Addressable LED systems: 753 pixels driven by DMA with power limiting
  • Bench and in-vehicle validation before anything ships

Embedded firmware

Real-time firmware written in C and C++ that does a lot with a small chip.

  • ESP-IDF on ESP32 and ESP32-S3, with work split deliberately across both cores
  • Real-time engine sound synthesis streamed as a Bluetooth A2DP source
  • Bluetooth LE services, Wi-Fi networking and on-device storage
  • Over-the-air updates on shipping products, so devices keep improving

Apps & interfaces

Software that sits on the other side of the device, in the browser or on the phone.

  • Web Bluetooth controllers that need no install and no app store
  • Installable progressive web apps for the phone
  • Live views of what the device is doing: telemetry, previews, scores
  • Interfaces designed for quick, glanceable use in a car or on a desk

Cloud & services

The servers behind a device, built so the product keeps working and can keep growing.

  • Licensing and unlock APIs with per-device tokens (JWT)
  • Self-hosted map-tile servers built on OpenStreetMap and OpenMapTiles
  • Live data pipelines that poll, cache and serve traffic to devices
  • Containerised deployments with Docker, fronted by Cloudflare

Product & visual design

Interfaces and imagery that make a technical product easy to understand and want.

  • Interface design for small displays, phones and the browser
  • Brand and visual identity for each product
  • Product imagery, renders and sales pages that explain what it does

Launch & support

Getting a product into people’s hands and keeping it good afterwards.

  • Storefronts and payments with Stripe, including per-device add-on unlocks
  • Quick-start documentation and customer-facing guides
  • Over-the-air releases and ongoing improvements after launch
A worked example

Inside SkyView: one product, four systems.

SkyView displayESP32-S3 firmware, 480×480 interface, Wi-Fi and OTA
License & unlock APIPer-device tokens and Stripe-powered add-ons
Map tile serverSelf-hosted OpenStreetMap and OpenMapTiles data
Traffic servicePolls live ADS-B data and caches it for every display

A small screen on a desk is the tip of the product. Everything behind it was designed alongside the device, which is what lets it work with no app and no account.
